The Continuing Education Association of New York (CEANY) held its annual conference on November 7th through the 9th in Saratoga Springs, NY, and Davin Workforce Solutions was on hand to sponsor and to offer new solutions to help New York State educators credential their nursing students.

“We participated in this event because we know that our local schools of nursing and allied health have been struggling with the administrative burden of credentialing their students for clinical placements. We wanted to get a feel for how this was going with schools located throughout the rest of the state,” said Davin Workforce Solutions’ Vice President Tom Kernan.

On Thursday, November 8th, at a Davin sponsored dinner, Mike Zinni, Director of Software Development, gave a presentation on nursing shortages, healthcare education, and how the Davin hosted software solution helps to prepare and speed up the clinical credentialing process for students.  Mike attended many of the events and talked with conference attendees.  “It is important to listen to the challenges that our community faces,” Mike said.  “To provide the appropriate solution, we must understand the problem.”

CEANY’s conference examined current problems in continuing education, as well as potential solutions. 

“One of the biggest takeaways from the event was that the CEANY is working on many projects and with many people to ensure that continuing education is supported and funded well,” said Sarah Pechar, of Davin Workforce Solutions Special Projects.  “There are many opportunities for adult education, and there are many people happy to support it. Metallica has even created a funding program for schools through the AACC that will provide money to directly assist students with support that includes learning materials, gear, tuition assistance, and help to lead to a pathway of achieving a well-paying job.”
